"Sugar and Spice" Is Now At Quimby's Bookstore

Just wanted to share the exciting news: "Sugar and Spice" made it to Chicago, Illinois! That's right, it's being sold at a really great place-- Quimby's Bookstore. You can check out Quimby's online at http://www.quimbys.com/

The zine has yet to get to their online store, but you can buy it online at our website.

On another note, this picture is another great reminder of how beautiful nature is. Monarchs are my favorite kind of butterfly. Yes, these ones are real. A little scary, but so pretty...

Ahoy there!
You wouldn't believe it, but the garden gnomes have been at work! And so have we-- this weekend, we finished all of the drawings for No. 2 in two and a half days! That's 33 tight pencil drawings, yessir.

To prove that we kid you not, here is an image of the studio! Actually, that's just my desk, where we usually work on the zine. There's the mood and reference boards, my toy kingdom looking a bit mad on the left, and *gasp* the empty artists's chairs. Aww, they're identical! ha ha ha

Believe it or not, that was coincidential.

Ooh, it's dark in there.

Above are pictures of the finished zines, spines and all! I can't believe they're finally done. Some were already mailed off, so they didn't make the final shoot, but that's ok.

Zine Production!

As of yesterday, we are 90% done with the zines! Yay! So all we need to do is print and attach the spines, and they'll be done.
Here are some images of our hard work! Ha, ha.

It's only a matter of time before they're ready for sale. More on that to come.

Below are some process pictures we took. The first two are of the first draft of the zine-- the first time we ever put it all together to see it in book form! Following that, are pictures of adding the hand-written type to an image, and doing a collage illustration!

Our first FINAL copy-- Complete!

Yes, that's right. Today we received the proof in the mail, much to my delight. We cut the pages to size, and bound it all, so now it's done! It is such a good feeling to finally look through it all in its final intended form. We are that much closer to receiving the first batch of them, and getting those ready, and out for sale.

I must say: Docucopies is king when it comes to copies! Those guys are awesome. I hope the rest of it looks as good as this one did!

More on that soon. Also, some pictures of our process should be on the way as well.
